SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Edward A. Heffernan, who passed away on February 14, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Edward Heffernan served the 16th District of the Chicago Police Department for 38 years; and

WHEREAS, Edward Heffernan was the beloved husband of the late Carol (Gitzinger) Heffernan, the loving father of Cynthia (John) Brennan and Edward Heffernan, the proud grandfather of Ryan (Brittani) Thompson, Colin, Megan, and Kaitlyn (Danny) Head, and Connor Brennan, the proud great-grandfather of Oliver and Camryn Thompson, the dear brother of Therese (the late Jack) Tipperreiter, Patricia (the late Jack) Ciesla, Kathleen (Gary) Boubek, and the late Sally Ann (the late Dick) Kelly, and the dear uncle of many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Edward A. Heffernan and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Edward Heffernan as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
