SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Josephine (Toigo) Rea of Christopher who passed away on December 27, 2006; and

WHEREAS, Josephine Rea was a homemaker, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother; she married our former colleague, Senator James F. Rea, on March 6, 1964; and

WHEREAS, Josephine Rea was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Christopher, CASA of Southern Illinois, and Fraternity of the Eagles; she was also the financial secretary of several political organizations; and

WHEREAS, Josephine Rea is survived by her husband, James Rea; her children and their spouses, James A. and Valrey Rea and Jo Ellen and John Brayfield; her grandchildren, Aaron, Dalton, and Avery Rea and Steven and Sarah Jo Brayfield; and her brothers and sisters, Adeline Walker, Angie Loiacono, Mary Fusanti, Lorena Simon, Joe Toigo, and Tony Toigo; and

WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents, John Pete and Antonia (Andgretti) Toigo; and three brothers, John Toigo II, Lewis Toigo, and Jacco Toigo; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Josephine Rea; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Josephine Rea as an expression of our sincere sorrow.
