SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of United States Army Sergeant Kraig D. Foyteck of Skokie, Illinois, who was killed on October 30, 2006; and

WHEREAS, Kraig Foyteck was a 1998 Niles West High School graduate; he also attended Edison, Madison, and Lincoln Junior High School; in high school he participated in football, wrestling, diving, swimming, and gymnastics; and

WHEREAS, He was known for his smile and his love for the good-natured practical joke; he loved animals, amusement parks, high diving, parachute jumping, snowmobile riding, swimming, and anything to do with the outdoors; and

WHEREAS, Before his military service, Kraig Foyteck attended Olivet College, where he continued to dive; he coached diving at Glenbrook South and Maine East; and

WHEREAS, Kraig Foyteck served with the 2-1 Infantry, 172 Brigade, based in Wainwright, Alaska; he was awarded the Purple Heart in October of 2005, after suffering injuries in Iraq; and

WHEREAS, Sergeant Kraig D. Foyteck is survived by his loving mother, Connie (Michael Londo) Foyteck; his proud father, Rik Gutzke; his brother and sister, Christopher Matsas and Amy Gutzke; his grandparents, Virginia and Jack Foyteck; his uncles, John (Laurie) Foyteck and Robert (Debbie) Foyteck; and his cousins Kali, Blake, Kevin, and Kristin Foyteck; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Sergeant Kraig D. Foyteck; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Sergeant Kraig D. Foyteck.
