SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois learned with regret of the death of Robert V. Stevenson Jr. of Lewistown on Tuesday, June 27, 2006; and

WHEREAS, He born on July 24, 1959, in East Liverpool, Ohio, to Robert V. Sr. and Janice Stevenson; he was united in marriage to the former Marcia Giles on June 30, 1979, in Peoria; and

WHEREAS, He served 23 years in the military and was a Fulton County sheriff's deputy; he was a member and served as quartermaster for the past 15 years for Lewistown VFW Post 5001 and was a member of Lewistown American Legion Bishop Post 1; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Robert V. Stevenson Jr. has been deeply felt by many, especially his wife, Marcia; his son, Tony Stevenson; his daughter, Jessica Stevenson; his stepparents, Harold and Noreen Hand; his brother, Todd (Jennifer) Hand; his sister, Melissa (Brian) Despines; and his stepsisters, Heidi and Heather; he was preceded in death by his mother; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Robert V. Stevenson Jr., and we extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to his family as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
