SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to express their sincere condolences to the family and friends of Corporal Ryan James Buckley of Oak Grove, Kentucky, formerly of Hillsboro, who passed away on June 23, 2006, in Iraq; and

WHEREAS, He was born on April 22, 1985, in Springfield; he was a 2003 graduate of Hillsboro High School; he was united in marriage on June 18, 2005, to the former Tina Davidson in Litchfield; he joined the United States Army in March of 2004; and

WHEREAS, He completed basic training at Ft. Benning, Georgia, and was stationed at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky; he was a gunner in the U.S. Army and was part of the 2nd Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment; and

WHEREAS, He was deployed to Iraq on November 27, 2005; he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Global War on Terrorism Medal; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Ryan James Buckley has been deeply felt by many, especially by his wife, Tina; his mother and step-father, Sally and Russell Nation; his father, Dennis Buckley; his brother, Cody Buckley; his step-brother, Aaron Nation; his step-sisters, Danielle Nation and Liz Cook; and his paternal grandparents, Howard and Joan Buckley; he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Kurt and Louise Schappart; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Ryan James Buckley, and we extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That we honor the memory of Corporal Buckley and his willingness to serve our country, which led to him making the ultimate sacrifice; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to his family as an expression of our sincerest condolences.
