SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 wish to express their sincere condolences to the family and
4 friends of Donald Karl Owens of Naperville, who passed away on
5 June 7, 2006; and
 
6     WHEREAS, He was born on May 17, 1924, to Willard Payton and
7 Charlotte (Jeans) Owens of Alton; he was united in marriage on
8 January 18, 1945, to the former Beverly Jane Ramsey in Saint
9 Louis, Missouri, who preceded him in death; he served his
10 country with the United States Army Occupational Forces after
11 World War II in Korea; and
 
12     WHEREAS, He and Beverly moved to Naperville in 1960, where
13 they were active members of the First Congregational Church
14 with Beverly serving as church organist for 30 years; he had a
15 long career in credit and finance management, including 14
16 years with the Hitachi Corporation from which he retired; and
 
17     WHEREAS, The passing of Donald Karl Owens has been deeply
18 felt by many, especially by his children, Jane Jacobek, Bonnie
19 Owens, Donald Owens, Susan (Mike) Hanus, Cheryl (Joe) Boland,
20 David Owens, and Joanne (Mike) Boland; his 14 grandchildren;
21 his four great-grandchildren; and his nephews, Robert G.
22 Kemper, Larry O. Kemper, and Rodney Owens; in addition to his
23 wife, he was proceeded in death by his parents, Willard and
24 Charlotte Owens; his daughter, Linda Lee; his son, Gary
25 Michael; and his siblings, Melvin W. Owens, Vernon P. Owens,
26 and Virginia (Owens) Kemper; therefore, be it
 
27     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
28 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
29 Donald Karl Owens, and we extend our sincere condolences to his
30 family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
31 further

1     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
2 presented to his family as an expression of our deepest
3 sympathy.
