SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois learned with regret of the death of Peter A. Baker of Winter Haven, Florida, formerly of Mundelein, on Friday, March 24, 2006; and

WHEREAS, He was born on August 23, 1928, in Lake Forest; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Baker was past president and Chairman of Peter Baker and Son Co.; and

WHEREAS, He was a former U.S. Navy Seabee and former member of Knights of Columbus and VFW; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Peter A. Baker has been deeply felt by many; he was the husband of Joyce M. (nee Lindholm) and the late Dorothy Mae (nee Cummings); the loving father of Arthur II (Jo Anne), Terry Baker, Robert Baker, and Barbara (Michael) Duffy; the cherished grandfather of Peter Baker, John Strazer, Julie, Dustin, and Gwen Rodgers, Shannon (Ryan) Maguire, and Moira and Aileen Duffy; the proud great-grandfather of Kyle; the dear brother of Arthur M. Jr., Elaine Cascarano, and the late Russell; and the devoted son of the late Erna and Arthur Sr.; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Peter A. Baker, and we extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to his family as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
