SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois learned with regret of the death of L. C. Calmese on Wednesday, March 15, 2006; and

WHEREAS, L. C. Calmese, the son of Lucious Hunter and the late Lena Mae Calmese, was born in Huspuckena, Mississippi, on October 19, 1945; and

WHEREAS, He united with White Plains Baptist Church in Huspuckena, Mississippi, at the age of nine and was baptized as a public confession of faith in Christ; and

WHEREAS, He received his education at Duncan Elementary in Duncan, Mississippi, and graduated from West Boliva High School in Rosedale, Mississippi; he was employed with the United States Postal Service in Oakland, California; and

WHEREAS, He met and later married Diana M. Williams in Oakland, California, on October 7, 1970; this union was blessed with two sons, Daryl André Calmese and Bryan Delano Calmese; and

WHEREAS, The passing of L. C. Calmese has been deeply felt by many, especially his wife, Diana M. Calmese; his sons, Daryl André Calmese and Bryan Delano Calmese; his brother, James L. Calmese; his sisters, Mattie Hunter and Brenda Hunter; his cousin, Betty Surft; and his many other relatives and friends; he was preceded in death by his sisters, Vickie Crump and Sandra Crump; his brother, Eugene Hall; his mother, Lena Mae Calmese Crump; and his grandmother, Cora Calmese; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of L. C. Calmese, and we extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to his family as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
