SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with sadness of the death of Olga Sturm of Herrin on
4 Sunday, February 5, 2006; and
 
5     WHEREAS, She was born on November 17, 1925, in Herrin, to
6 Ben and Nan (Nash) Hardcastle; she married Joseph Sturm on
7 January 29, 1955, in Marion, and together they shared more than
8 22 years of marriage until his death on September 3, 1977; and
 
9     WHEREAS, Mrs. Sturm was the former owner of Egypt Flowers
10 in Herrin; prior to her return to Herrin, she worked for Kmart
11 in Chicago and Iowa for 25 years; and
 
12     WHEREAS, The passing of Olga Sturm has been deeply felt by
13 many, especially her daughters, Marsha Comes, Joni Walden and
14 husband, Clewis, and Connie Gosnell and husband, Mike; her son,
15 Donald R. Sturm; her grandchildren, Joseph W. Comes and wife,
16 Jill, Jon Comes, Nancy Connell, Susan Connell, Sara Sturm, and
17 Chad Joseph Sturm; her great-grandchild, Jacqueline Comes; her
18 sister, Maxine Hoppe; her brother, Bob Hardcastle and wife,
19 Barbara; her sisters, Loretta Reagan and husband, Chuck, and
20 Pat Sowman; and several nieces and nephews; she was preceded in
21 death by her parents; her husband; her brothers, Ray, Bill,
22 Leymone, Charles, and Benny Hardcastle; and her sister, Edwina
23 Hardcastle; therefore, be it
 
24     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
25 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
26 Olga Sturm, and we extend our sincerest condolences to her
27 family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
28 further
 
29     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
30 presented to her family as an expression of our deepest
