SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois learned with sadness of the tragic and untimely death of Ashley Ann Ruzich of Herrin on Wednesday, January 25, 2006, just one day after her eleventh birthday; and

WHEREAS, Ashley was born on January 24, 1995, to Cheryl Leposky Ruzich and Raymond Ruzich; she was a fifth-grade student at Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Herrin; and

WHEREAS, She was a member of Broadway Studios of Benton and competed in competitions locally and in St. Louis and received many awards for her accomplishments; she loved to dance, play softball and soccer, tumble, and entertain her friends; she was always goofing around and trying to make everyone happy; she will be sadly missed and never forgotten; and

WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her sister, Jeseca Taylor Ruzich; her father, Raymond Ruzich; her maternal grandfather, Tom Leposky; and her paternal grandfather, Louis Ruzich; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Ashley Ann Ruzich has been deeply felt by many, especially her mother, Cheryl Leposky Ruzich; her sister, Stevie Raeann Ruzich; her aunts and uncles, Tom and Janet Leposky, Jeff Leposky, Mark Ruzich, and Steph and "Johnnie" Natyshok; her maternal grandmother, Charlene Leposky; her paternal grandmother, Diane Ruzich; her maternal great-grandmother, Pearl Lefler; her great uncle, George Lefler; her cousins, Kyle and Ryan Leposky, and Garrett Leposky; and her special cousin, Gauge Leposky; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Ashley Ann Ruzich, who was taken from this world at much too young an age, and we extend our deepest sympathy to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to her family as an expression of deep sorrow for her passing and with our sincerest condolences.
