SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois learned with regret of the death of Jerome P. Drobnick of Waukegan on December 26, 2005; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Drobnick was born on August 25, 1911 in North Chicago; and

WHEREAS, for the past 62 years, Mr. Drobnick was the owner and operator of Jerome P. Drobnick Real Estate in Waukegan; and

WHEREAS, During World War II, Mr. Drobnick served in the United States Navy from 1942-1945; he served on board the aircraft carrier USS Makassar Strait CVE 91 that brought him into action in both the Iwo Jima and Okinawa campaigns; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Drobnick was a member of the K.S.K.J., St. Anastasia Church, the American Legion Homer Dahringer Post #281 in Waukegan, AM VETS, the Chicago Catholic University Club, the Loyal Order of Moose, the Elks Club, and the Glen Flora Country Club; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Drobnick was a world traveler, an avid golfer, and was the organizer of his annual high school class reunion; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Drobnick was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth; and

WHEREAS, the passing of Mr. Drobnick has been deeply felt by all who knew him, especially his daughters Kathleen and Betsy; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of Jerome P. Drobnick, and we extend our deepest condolences to all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to his family as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
