SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois learned with sadness of the death of Wanda Upchurch of Johnston City on July 30, 2005; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Upchurch was born June 14, 1935, in Glen Carbon, to Cecil Phelps and Harriett (Gaul) Phelps; she married Kenneth Upchurch on June 17, 1995, in Thompsonville; and

WHEREAS, She was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Thompsonville; and

WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Duane Arms, and one brother; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Wanda Upchurch is felt by all who knew and loved her, especially her husband, Kenneth; her daughter, Dana Baltzell and husband David McCracken; her grandchildren, Kyle, Kole, and Kala Osburn; her great-grandchildren, Kobe, McKenzie, Madison, and Kellen; her sister, Thelma Wheeler and husband Glen; and her brothers, Cecil "Bud" Phelps and wife Joyce and Lowell Phelps and wife Linda; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Wanda Upchurch and extend our sincerest condolences to her family and friends; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to her family as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
