SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois learned with sadness of the death of Eva Mae Goddard of Anna on July 18, 2005; and

WHEREAS, She was born March 23, 1915, in Murphysboro, to Curt and Alice Roberts Burns; she married Clyde Goddard on April 12, 1936, in Anna; and

WHEREAS, She was a member of the Anna United Methodist Church; she worked with her husband at Goddard's Seed and Produce store for many years; she and her late husband had been married for more than 50 years; she was a homemaker and was devoted to her family; and

WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sisters, Afton Burns Aldridge and Imogene Burns; and her brother-in-law, Roy Goddard; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Eva Mae Goddard is felt by all who knew and loved her, especially her sons, Jimmy Dean and wife Edna Goddard and Jerry Lynn and wife Jeni Goddard; her grandchildren, Jeff and wife Teresa Goddard, Mark and wife Amber Goddard, Kelle O'Malley, Shannon Goddard, Ashley Goddard, and Matthew Goddard; her great-grandchildren, Lucretia and Lindsey Goddard, Jordan O'Malley, Dominic Nation, Connor O'Malley, and Garrett Goddard; her nieces, Jane Bauer and Judy Anderson; her nephew, Donald Goddard; her sister-in-law, Naomi Goddard; her cousins, Eileen Wilson and Genevieve Booth; and her other relatives and many friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we express our most sincere regret at the passing of Eva Mae Goddard and extend our condolences to her family, friends, and community; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to her family as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
