SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with regret of the death of John P. "Jack" Driscoll of
4 Peoria on Wednesday, January 26, 2005; and
 
5     WHEREAS, He was born on November 29, 1927, in Peoria to
6 Joseph E. and Antoinette "Toni" Sheehan Driscoll; he married
7 Antoinette "Toni" Basic on June 14, 1952, in Chicago; and
 
8     WHEREAS, Mr. Driscoll valiantly served his country as a
9 member of the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1945 to 1948
10 and during the Korean War from 1950 to 1952; and
 
11     WHEREAS, He received a bachelor's degree in business
12 administration from Bradley University in 1953 and was a member
13 of the Bradley Chiefs Club; he worked in the sales department
14 at Wilkins Pipe & Supply Co. in Peoria from 1957 until retiring
15 in 1991; and
 
16     WHEREAS, Mr. Driscoll was a member of St. Vincent de Paul
17 Catholic Church in Peoria and was a third degree member of the
18 Knights of Columbus, Spalding Council 427; and
 
19     WHEREAS, The passing of John P. "Jack" Driscoll has been
20 deeply felt by many, especially his wife, Toni; his daughter,
21 Kathleen (and George) Coker; his sons, Joseph and Timothy (and
22 Julie); his brother, Jerry "Deacon" (and Eleanor); and his four
23 grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
24     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
25 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
26 John P. "Jack" Driscoll, and we extend our deepest sympathy to
27 his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
28 further

1     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
2 presented to his family as an expression of our sincere
3 condolences.
