SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois learned with sadness of the death of Irene McKinney of Waukegan on October 30, 2004; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. McKinney was born March 19, 1910, in Grafton, Wisconsin, the daughter of Frederick and Kathryn (nee Bernitte) Witte; and

WHEREAS, She had been a member of Holy Family Church in North Chicago for many years; since 1987, she was a resident of Lilac Ledge in Waukegan; she was a past member of the Altar Rosary Society, Catholic Order of Foresters, and Royal Neighbors of America; and

WHEREAS, Her wonderful sense of humor and eagerness to share a good joke kept family and friends in stitches; her faith was the cornerstone of her life; and

WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 59 years, Earl McKinney; her sister, Alice Fuller; her brothers, Roy and Wallace Witte; and her grandchild, John Paul McKinney; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Irene McKinney is felt by all who knew and loved her, especially her sons, Jack (Mary Lou), Daniel (Violet), Kenneth (Sheryl), and Gerald (Mary Ann); her grandchildren, Jack Jr., Pamela, Jackie, Dora, Kenny, Randy, Colleen, Suzette, Barbara, and Michelle; her great-grandchildren, Shelby, James, Danny, P.J., Brandon, Melinda, Heather, Brittany, Gina, Tia, Christopher, Michael, Tim, and Gracie; and her great-great-grandchild, Courtney; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Irene McKinney and extend our sincerest condolences to her family, friends, and community; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to her family as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
