SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois learned with regret of the death of Caswell Martin of Norris City on Tuesday, June 7, 2005; and

WHEREAS, He was born on September 5, 1933 in Carrier Mills to Lloyd and Ruth L. (Tarrant) Martin; he valiantly served his country and was a Korean War veteran; and

WHEREAS, He was a retired custodian at Ball-Chatham School District in Chatham and was a guitar enthusiast; and

WHEREAS, His passing has been deeply felt by many, especially his daughter and her husband, Karen and Robert "Bob" Armstrong; his sisters, Mona Odle and Sandra Clayton; his grandchildren, Todd (and Erica) Armstrong and Jessica Armstrong Phillips; his great-grandchild, Kaleigh Jane Phillips; and his numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Caswell Martin, and we extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to his family as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
