SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with sadness of the death of Jeremiah Cody South of
4 Marion on June 13, 2005; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Mr. South was born July 20, 1982, in Carbondale,
6 to Jim "Bo" and Susan (Mattingly) South; and
 
7     WHEREAS, He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel
8 Catholic Church in Herrin; and
 
9     WHEREAS, He was a 2001 graduate of Herrin High School; he
10 was employed by Southern Illinois University Carbondale in
11 maintenance; and
 
12     WHEREAS, He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and cooking; he also
13 enjoyed spending time with his fiancee and playing with his
14 daughter; and
 
15     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his brother, Josiah
16 South; his maternal grandparents, Leo and Betty Mattingly; his
17 paternal grandparents, John R. and Jeanette Ferguson; and his
18 aunt, Frances Mattingly; and
 
19     WHEREAS, The passing of Jeremiah Cody South is felt by all
20 who knew and loved him, especially his fiancee, Tina Smith; his
21 daughter, Shalyn Marie South; his brother, David South; his
22 step grandmother, Peggy Mattingly; his uncles and aunts, Rex
23 and Debbie Piper, Mick and Colette Martin, Mike and Sheri
24 South, Tammy and Steve Augustine, Richard and Patty Piper,
25 Jeanette and Mike Ladd, Terry and Larry Wallace, Tonya and
26 David Agnew, Bill and Chris Mattingly, and David and Tina
27 Mattingly; his aunt, Sandy Carpenter; his uncle, Leo Jr.
28 "Sonny" Mattingly; and his cousins and friends; therefore, be
29 it

1     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
2 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3 Jeremiah Cody South and extend our sincerest condolences to his
4 family, friends, and community; and be it further
 
5     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6 presented to his family as an expression of our deepest
7 sympathy.
