SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois learned with regret of the death of Ronald Myatt of West Frankfort on Monday, May 16, 2005; and

WHEREAS, He was born on December 25, 1919, in Castleford, England, to Arthur and Alice (Hutchinson) Myatt; he married Margaret Campbell on June 13, 1938, in West Frankfort; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Myatt valiantly served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army's 1st Battalion (Fightin' First), 222nd Infantry, 42nd (Rainbow) Division; and

WHEREAS, He was a coal miner for 47 years, working as a motorman for the Old Ben, Orient, and Freeman Mines; he was a member of the UMWA; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Ronald Myatt has been deeply felt by many, especially his wife, Margaret; his sons, Ronald Myatt and wife Elizabeth and Barry Myatt and wife Sherry; his nine grandchildren; and his four great-grandchildren; he was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Robert; his brother, Arthur; and his baby sister; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Ronald Myatt, and we extend our sincerest condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to his family as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
