SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois learned with sadness of the death of Nadine Erwin of Benton on May 8, 2005; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Erwin was born August 20, 1925, in Whittington, to O.H. and Nellie (Blanton) Pearson; she married Charles Erwin May 24, 1941; they had three children, Donnie, Linda, and Diane; and

WHEREAS, She was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church in Benton; and

WHEREAS, She worked for 21 years at Joan-Claire Dress Factory in Benton; she also worked at Franklin Hospital and Wal-Mart; and

WHEREAS, She was a member of the Sunshine Ladies and a former member of Shawnee Sams and Rend Lake Ramblers Company Clubs; and

WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers, William Pearson and Gale Pearson; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Erwin is survived by many friends and family who mourn her passing, especially her children, Donnie Erwin, Linda Erwin, and Diane Bennett and husband, Donnie; her sister, Jean Bain and husband, Robert; her sister-in-law, Edith Taylor; her brother-in-law, John Clark Jr. and wife, Mary Lou; and her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we express our sorrow upon the passing of Nadine Erwin and extend to her family, friends, and community our most heartfelt sympathy; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to her family as an expression of our deepest condolences.
