SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with sadness of the death of Eddie L. Steele of Chicago
4 on April 28, 2005; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Mr. Steele was born January 5, 1951, to Eddie Lee
6 Steele, Sr., and Dora Lee Steele, the oldest of four children;
7 and
 
8     WHEREAS, He attended John Fisk Elementary School,
9 Beethoven Middle School, Dusable High School, and Kennedy King
10 College in Chicago; and
 
11     WHEREAS, He served in the U.S. Navy from January 16, 1969
12 to January 15, 1975; he was very proud to have served his
13 country in the Vietnam War; and
 
14     WHEREAS, He married Zether Mae Stone (Mae Mae) on February
15 10, 1973, and they had two children, Katrina L. Steele and
16 Bianca C. Steele, and were grandparents to one grandchild,
17 Trevion E. Steele; and
 
18     WHEREAS, He was employed at Ford Motor Company for 33
19 years; he was better known at Ford as "Lil Momma" and by
20 friends and family as "Toochie Doochie"; and
 
21     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; and
 
22     WHEREAS, In addition to his loving family, he leaves to
23 cherish his memory one sister, Eva M. (Steele) Thomas; his
24 brothers, Everette D. Steele (Goodie), and Larry C. Steele; his
25 aunt, Carrie (Johnnie) Gray; his uncle, Wadell Steele; his
26 great-aunts, Clem Johnson (Clarence) Johnson, Lily Williams,
27 and Margarett (Columbus) Williams; his sisters-in-law; his
28 mother-in-law, Mae D. Stone; and a host of nieces, nephews,

1 cousins, and friends; therefore, be it
 
2     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
3 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that that we mourn the
4 passing of Eddie L. Steele and extend our sincere condolences
5 to his family, friends, and community; and be it further
 
6     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7 presented to his family as an expression of our deepest
8 sympathy.
