SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois learned with regret of the death of Donald A. "Pete" Kermeen of Kewanee on Sunday, March 6, 2005; and

WHEREAS, He was born on August 10, 1928, in Kewanee to Donald and Leona (Lindbloom) Kermeen; he married Dolores Ostrowski on August 5, 1950, in Kewanee; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Kermeen was educated in Galva schools and was a Navy veteran, serving from 1947 to 1951; he worked for many years at Kewanee Boiler Corp. and later was employed at the Farm King store in Kewanee; and

WHEREAS, He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Kewanee and Kewanee VFW Post 8078; he enjoyed golfing, taking care of his lawn, and spending time with his grandkids; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Donald A. "Pete" Kermeen has been deeply felt by many, especially his wife, Dolores; his daughter, Pat McGill; his granddaughter, Mrs. Bryan (Lori) Simmons; his great-grandchildren, Nicole, Sheila, and Amanda Nuding; his great-great-grandchildren, Hailey and Lainey; his many nieces and nephews; his brother, Dave (Betty) Kermeen; and his sister, Carol Hardy; he was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Donald A. "Pete" Kermeen, and we extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to his family as an expression of our sincere condolences.
