AN ACT concerning public aid.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by adding Section 5-5.4d as follows:

(305 ILCS 5/5-5.4d new)

Sec. 5-5.4d. Date from which reimbursement is required. The Department of Healthcare and Family Services shall reimburse a nursing facility under this Article for care provided by the facility to a recipient of medical assistance under this Article from the date that the recipient is transferred from a hospital to the nursing facility, regardless of whether the nursing facility has received the appropriate forms required under federal law in connection with the transfer by that date.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
