SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

740 ILCS 185/7

from Ch. 96 1/2, par. 9407

Amends the Wrongful Tree Cutting Act. Provides that the Act does not apply to a supplier of sanitary sewage collection services who may cut, or cause to be cut, any tree or timber that may impair that supplier's ability to provide safe and reliable service. Effective immediately.

AN ACT concerning civil liabilities.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Wrongful Tree Cutting Act is amended by changing Section 7 as follows:

(740 ILCS 185/7) (from Ch. 96 1/2, par. 9407)

Sec. 7. The provisions of this Act shall not apply to a supplier of electricity, natural gas, sanitary sewage collection, or telephone service who may cut, or cause to be cut, any tree or timber which may impair that supplier's ability to provide safe and reliable service.
