HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Kylie Harby, a Catlin High School senior, was chosen to represent her high school on the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) Student Advisory Council; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Harby was one of 20 students from throughout the State chosen to be on the Council; she was chosen because she is an excellent leader and a hard worker; she will be able to continue to develop her leadership role through her membership on the Council; and

WHEREAS, She wants to see positive changes for rural schools, as she is aware of the disparity in technology, textbooks, and funding between northern and southern Illinois schools; she looks forward to highlighting that rural schools provide more variety, healthier school lunches, and that students do teacher valuations; and

WHEREAS, She attended the ISBE's Student Advisory Council Conference on December 14-15, 2005; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Kylie Harby on her appointment to the ISBE Student Advisory Council, and we wish her continuing success in her future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Kylie Harby as an expression of our admiration and esteem.
