HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that, with the growing number of Illinois residents being sent overseas for active military duty, there is a need for a central location for military families to give and exchange information and support; and

WHEREAS, Military moms have asked the General Assembly to create a web site for military families to post contact information, events and activities, and other support tools for families with loved ones on active duty; and

WHEREAS, The Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs has a web site with resources for veterans and their dependents and survivors; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we recommend that the Department of Veterans Affairs add a link on its website that will provide a medium for military families to communicate with each other; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the military moms of Champaign-Urbana as a token of our respect and esteem for the sacrifices their families have made.
