HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives learned with sadness of the death of Robert
4 Augusta Avino of Elk Grove Village on November 5, 2004; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Mr. Avino was born August 15, 1932; he married
6 Anne Marie on September 26, 1953; and
 
7     WHEREAS, He served as a military policeman during the
8 Korean War, during which time he served as a personal guard to
9 President Eisenhower; he was initiated into the Chicago
10 Journeyman Plumbers Local 130 U.A. on December 20, 1955; he
11 started as an apprentice in 1955 with Franks Mechanical and
12 went on to serve as general superintendent for 18 years; with
13 his family he was a proud proprietor of Ramm Plumbing Company
14 in Elk Grove Village; and
 
15     WHEREAS, He became an officer of the Chicago Journeyman
16 Plumbers Local 130 in the 1970s, where he served on the
17 Examining Board, Finance Committee, Welfare Fund, and Joint
18 Arbitration Board; he was a delegate for the union at many
19 national and state conventions; he became a member of the
20 Plumbing Council of Chicagoland in 1988 and chairman in 1994;
21 and
 
22     WHEREAS, He was a member of the Italian War Veterans
23 Organization and the Northwest Builders Association; he
24 enjoyed golf, bridge, and bowling; one of his chief pleasures
25 in life was spending time with his grandchildren; and
 
26     WHEREAS, The passing of Robert Avino is felt by all who
27 knew and loved him, especially his wife, Anne Marie; his
28 children, Robert Jr., Stephen, Mary, and Frank; and his
29 grandchildren; therefore, be it

1     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
2 NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
3 we mourn the passing of Robert Avino and extend our sincerest
4 condolences to his family and friends; and be it further
 
5     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6 presented to his family as an expression of our deepest
7 sympathy.
