| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The Naperville Baseball Association will |
| 3 |
| celebrate its 50th anniversary on June 3, 2005, at Knoch Park; |
| 4 |
| and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, The Association was founded in 1955 to provide |
| 6 |
| baseball recreation for young adults, ages 13 to 18, fostering |
| 7 |
| the ideals of good sportsmanship, courage, obedience, loyalty, |
| 8 |
| truth, and reverence, in order that those involved might become |
| 9 |
| finer, stronger, and happier adults; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, The Association is an all-volunteer organization |
| 11 |
| consisting of two leagues of play: Pony league for students |
| 12 |
| ages 13 and 14, and Colt league for students ages 15 to 18; the |
| 13 |
| Pony league has 46 teams playing at three different skill |
| 14 |
| levels, and the Colt league has 35 different teams playing at |
| 15 |
| two different skill levels; and
|
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, The Association currently programs nearly 1,000 |
| 17 |
| games each year, serving approximately 1,250 players; games are |
| 18 |
| available for any who wish to participate; and
|
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, Throughout the past 50 years, the Naperville |
| 20 |
| Baseball Association has touched the lives of more than 25,000 |
| 21 |
| young people; therefore, be it
|
| 22 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 23 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 24 |
| we congratulate the Naperville Baseball Association on the |
| 25 |
| occasion of its 50th anniversary; and be it further
|
| 26 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 27 |
| presented to the Naperville Baseball Association as an |
| 28 |
| expression of our respect and esteem and with best wishes for |
| 29 |
| the continued success of such a fine organization.
