HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The National Honor Society members from Richmond-Burton High School District #157 participate each year in a variety of charitable community projects; and

WHEREAS, Richmond-Burton High School Biology teacher, Mrs. Judy Boisen, has done an outstanding job of motivating the academically-talented students to use their gifts in works of charity for the betterment of the community; and

WHEREAS, The National Honor Society has 43 members and many of the members have been in the National Honor Society for two years; they are actively engaged in goal setting, self-awareness, empathy, and understanding of others, vital life skills that transcend the classroom; and

WHEREAS, The members are Erika Anderson, Jackie Beaudry, Christina Belderson, Emily Biagi, Matt Craffey, Mackenzie Crutcher, Anna Eisbrener, Molly Esp, Megan Evans, Ryan Ewald, Sarah Fasen, Jamie Finley, Janelle Foszcz, Mike Gajewski, Nicole Hartig, Kyle Hines, Jenna Joestgen, Kerianne Johnstin, Caitlin Kaman, Rebecca Lemkau, Michelle Maciejewski, Jake Marsh, Christina Marten, Greg Mikus, Katie Narlow, Megan O'Kane, Alex Petersen, Alex Pinkowski, Nathaniel Raizen, Molly Rhoderick, Monica Riordan, Nadine Schneider, Brett Scheuneman, Laura Van Dycke, Ashley Veldhuizen, Ali Vetter, Nathaniel Vorderstrasse, Laura Wahls, Benjamin Walusiak, Kirsten Whalen Petersen, Nick Whitcomb, Brandon Wisinski, and Lydia Zimmerman; and

WHEREAS, The members are involved in a variety of worthwhile projects, such as adopting a highway and keeping litter picked up, assisting the community with Richmond Round Up Days, holding an annual talent show with proceeds financing a $1000 Fine Arts Scholarship for a senior, collecting books for children in Voi, Kenya, providing tutoring services, and hosting blood drives and an annual Senior Citizen Prom; and

WHEREAS, The members of the Richmond-Burton National Honor Society truly deserve to be recognized for the charitable services they provide to the citizens of their community and their dedication to academic excellence; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we offer our sincere thanks to Mrs. Judy Boisen and the members of Richmond-Burton High School National Honor Society for their community involvement, which has brought much honor to themselves, their families, and their high school; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Richmond-Burton High School National Honor Society as an expression of our admiration and esteem.
