HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the State of Illinois wish to honor The Lake View Korean Presbyterian Church on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of its founding; and

WHEREAS, The Lake View Korean Presbyterian Church was founded in 1977 in Chicago; and

WHEREAS, The rapid growth of the Lake View Korean Presbyterian Church required the church to build a larger facility at the present location in Niles in 1985; and

WHEREAS, The Lake View Korean Presbyterian Church established the English Congregation under Dr. Lawrence Welborn in 1990; and

WHEREAS, The Lake View Korean Presbyterian Church will mark the 30th anniversary of its founding on January 28, 2007 in a special concert featuring Handel's Messiah; and

WHEREAS, The Lake View Korean Presbyterian Church has defined its statement of purpose as to please God through worship, to train lay ministers to serve others, to evangelize God's word, and to live as a model to change the world; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate The Lake View Korean Presbyterian Church on its 30th anniversary; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to The Lake View Korean Presbyterian Church as an expression of our esteem.
