| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, Firefighters are courageous and devoted public |
| 3 |
| servants who risk their lives for the betterment of their |
| 4 |
| communities by serving as defenders of lives and property; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 6 |
| Representatives wish to recognize Captain Ken Kerfoot on the |
| 7 |
| occasion of his retirement from the Normal Fire Department |
| 8 |
| after 30 years of dedicated service; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, Captain Kerfoot began his career with the Normal |
| 10 |
| Fire Department on August 30, 1976; he was promoted to the rank |
| 11 |
| of lieutenant on December 15, 1986, and then promoted to the |
| 12 |
| rank of captain on April 5, 1997; and
|
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, During his career, he was instrumental in the |
| 14 |
| establishment of a second rescue squad, and he was a member of |
| 15 |
| the Department's Hazardous Materials Team; and
|
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, His long and diligent service earned him the |
| 17 |
| respect of his fellow fighters, and his service to his |
| 18 |
| community has touched the lives of countless people and |
| 19 |
| deserves the highest praise; therefore, be it
|
| 20 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 21 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 22 |
| we commend Captain Ken Kerfoot for his long and distinguished |
| 23 |
| career of exemplary public service to his community, and we |
| 24 |
| wish him good health and happiness in all of his future |
| 25 |
| endeavors; and be it further
|
| 26 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 27 |
| presented to Captain Ken Kerfoot as an expression of our |
| 28 |
| admiration and respect.
