| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives are |
| 3 |
| pleased to honor the accomplishments of community assets; and
|
| 4 |
| WHEREAS, The North Shore Senior Center of Northfield is |
| 5 |
| celebrating its fiftieth anniversary of service to senior |
| 6 |
| citizens in 23 northern suburbs; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, The North Shore Senior Center, founded in 1956, |
| 8 |
| has grown from a staff of two to a staff of over 100, now |
| 9 |
| serving more than 37,000 different people each year; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, The North Shore Senior Center provides outlets for |
| 11 |
| meaningful civic engagement and intellectual challenges as |
| 12 |
| well as physical and mental exercise; and
|
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, The exquisite facilities, quality daily |
| 14 |
| programming, and dedicated staff create a vibrant community |
| 15 |
| spirit which enables the North Shore Senior Center to attract |
| 16 |
| seniors and caregivers from a variety of communities; and
|
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, The North Shore Senior Center acts as an Area |
| 18 |
| Agency on Aging, providing a plethora of social services, which |
| 19 |
| range in scope from handyman services to Parkinson's exercises, |
| 20 |
| giving seniors the option of remaining in their homes while |
| 21 |
| receiving appropriate care on an individualized level; |
| 22 |
| therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 24 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 25 |
| we congratulate the North Shore Senior Center on 50 years of |
| 26 |
| achievement and service to the northern suburbs of Chicago; and |
| 27 |
