HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, On March 22, John Svitak was honored as Westmont's Citizen of the Year; and

WHEREAS, In addition to receiving this award, Mr. Svitak also received the President's Award, the top award given by the Westmont Chamber of Commerce; and

WHEREAS, Village officials nominated Mr. Svitak for his countless hours of volunteer time and his exceptional spirit of giving without expecting anything in return; and

WHEREAS, In his 40 years as a Westmont resident, Mr. Svitak has been active in various activities and has been a member of several clubs and organizations; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Svitak actively volunteers with the Lions Club and the Jaycees; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Svitak is also one of the directors of the Westmont Special Events Committee, and he has organized many special events, including the Taste of Westmont, Holly Days, Cruisin' Nights, and the Trick-or-Treat Trail; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Svitak has served as the Main Street organization director, Chamber of Commerce member, and often acts as a lobby monitor during Village Hall meetings; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Svitak also volunteers for a hospital in Chicago, helping with paperwork for a blood drive that occurs once every two months; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Svitak is known for his humility and his smile; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate John Svitak on receiving Westmont's Citizen of the Year and President's Awards, and we recognize his positive contribution to his community; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to John Svitak as an expression of our respect and esteem.
