HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the State of Illinois learned with sadness of the death of L.G. Wallace of Brookport on Friday, March 17, 2006; and

WHEREAS, He served two tours in the United States Army, serving in Occupied Japan; he was a 33rd-Degree Master Mason, a lifetime member of the Farmers Lodge 232 of Brookport, and a member of the Brookport American Legion and VFW; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Wallace was a member of Calvary Fellowship Baptist Church in Metropolis; he was a retired machinist with the Tennessee Valley Authority Shawnee Steam Plant in Paducah and was also employed with the Secretary of State of Illinois as a senior citizen coordinator; and

WHEREAS, He was very active in the Massac County Democratic Party, serving as a precinct committeeman for many years; he was known as "Mr. Democrat" of Massac County; and

WHEREAS, The passing of L.G. Wallace has been deeply felt by many, especially his wife, Elizabeth Wallace; his sons, Brian Wallace and wife Dana and Brent Wallace and wife Connie; his daughters, Mary Hockman and husband Rick, Barbara Olroyd and husband Steve, and Crystal Davenport and husband Shane; his twelve grandchildren; his great-grandchild; his sister, Verlee Suttles; and his many nieces and nephews; he was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Pearl Swinford Wallace, and his brother, Thurman "Pat" Wallace; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of L.G. Wallace, and we extend our deepest sympathy to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to his family as an expression of our sincerest condolences.
