HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, Margaret "Peggy" Reipsa is retiring June 30, 2006
3 from her position as Principal of Center School after 34 years
4 of distinguished service as an educational professional for
5 Orland School District 135; and
 
6     WHEREAS, Mrs. Reipsa attended Thornton Jr. College for 2
7 years before matriculating to Northern Illinois University
8 where, in 1972, she received a bachelor's degree in Education;
9 She received her Master's Degree in Special Education from
10 Chicago State University and later, her Administrative
11 Certificate from the Illinois State Board of Education through
12 coursework at St. Xavier University; and
 
13     WHEREAS, Mrs. Reipsa met her husband Charlie in high
14 school; they were married March 12, 1978 and have 2 wonderful
15 children, Lindsay and Joe; and
 
16     WHEREAS, In September 1977, Mrs. Reipsa began her career in
17 District 135 as a Special Needs Resource Teacher at High Point
18 School; she served in the same capacity at Doctor School,
19 Orland Jr. High School, and Center School, switching to the
20 Reading Recovery Program at Center School in the 1990s; in
21 1994, she worked at the District Office as the Assistant to the
22 Instructional Services Director; on July 1, 1998 she returned
23 to Center School to serve as Principal; and
 
24     WHEREAS, As a Special Education Teacher, Reading Teacher,
25 Instructional Services Assistant, and Principal, Mrs. Reipsa
26 has been a dedicated and tireless advocate for excellence in
27 education for 34 years; her determination and devotion will be
28 missed; therefore, be it
 
29     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
30 NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that

1 we congratulate Peggy Reipsa on the occasion of her retirement
2 as Principal of Center School; and be it further
 
3     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
4 presented to Mrs. Reipsa as an expression of our respect and
5 esteem and with best wishes for a relaxing retirement.
