| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of this Body are honored to recognize |
| 3 |
| significant milestones in the lives of the people of this |
| 4 |
| State; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Josephine Giorgi |
| 6 |
| is celebrating the 85th anniversary of her birth; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, She was born in 1921 and is a twin to sister Lee |
| 8 |
| Benesh; she was born on St. Joseph's day, hence the name |
| 9 |
| Josephine; she was the sixth child born to Vincent and Maria |
| 10 |
| Buttacavoli who were immigrants from Sicily; she is still very |
| 11 |
| close to her surviving siblings, Peter Buttacavoli, Frank |
| 12 |
| Buttacavoli, and Lee Benesh; and
|
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, Josephine married Edolo "Zeke" Giorgi on November |
| 14 |
| 27, 1943; they had a very close marriage and were married one |
| 15 |
| month shy of 50 years; sadly, he passed away on October 24, |
| 16 |
| 1993; Mr. Giorgi served 29 years in the House of |
| 17 |
| Representatives; he has a State of Illinois building and a |
| 18 |
| stretch of highway named in his honor; and
|
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, Josephine is the proud mother of Barbara (Frank), |
| 20 |
| Beverly (Angelo), and Betty (Tom); she is the grandmother of |
| 21 |
| Bobby, David (Michelle), Andrew, Marc (Mary), Mike, Maria, and |
| 22 |
| Anna; and the great-grandmother of Ryan and Grace; and
|
| 23 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Giorgi lives on her own and enjoys playing |
| 24 |
| cards with her girlfriends and cooking for her family; |
| 25 |
| therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 27 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 28 |
| we congratulate Mrs. Josephine Giorgi on the occasion of her |
| 29 |
| 85th birthday, and we extend to her our sincere best wishes for |
