Amends the Election Code. Requires that a landlord give a new tenant of residential property a voter registration application form when the landlord gives the tenant a copy of the signed lease or within 10 days after the tenant begins occupancy, whichever is earlier. Requires election authorities to supply landlords upon request with sufficient application forms.

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|

| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Election Code is amended by adding Sections |
| 5 |
| 4-105, 5-105, and 6-105 as follows:
|

| Sec. 4-105. Voter registration application forms to new |
| 8 |
| tenants. Whenever a landlord leases residential property and |
| 9 |
| receives from the tenant a signed lease agreement, the landlord |
| 10 |
| must provide that tenant with a voter registration application |
| 11 |
| form supplied by the proper election authority with |
| 12 |
| jurisdiction over the leased premises. The form shall be given |
| 13 |
| to the tenant when the landlord provides the tenant with a copy |
| 14 |
| of the signed lease agreement or within 10 days after the |
| 15 |
| tenant begins occupancy of the premises, whichever is earlier. |
| 16 |
| Notwithstanding any provision of this Article to the |
| 17 |
| contrary, each election authority shall supply landlords upon |
| 18 |
| request with sufficient voter registration application forms |
| 19 |
| to comply with this Section.
