SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

105 ILCS 5/2-3.137 new

Amends the School Code. Requires the State Board of Education to establish a program to provide financial aid to high school students to pay for the costs of enrolling in courses that prepare students to take those standardized examinations that are commonly required for college entrance.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section 2-3.137 as follows:

(105 ILCS 5/2-3.137 new)

Sec. 2-3.137. Financial aid for college entrance examination preparation courses. The State Board of Education shall establish a program to provide financial aid to high school students to pay for the costs of enrolling in courses that prepare students to take those standardized examinations that are commonly required for college entrance. The State Board may adopt any rules that are necessary to implement and administer this Section.
