 1                          SENATE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The members  of  the  Senate  of  the  State  of
 3    Illinois were saddened to learn of the death of United States
 4    Marine Captain Ryan Beaupre of St. Anne; and

 5        WHEREAS,  Capt.  Beaupre,  30, was one of the 12 soldiers
 6    killed in the crash  of a  CH-46  Sea  Knight  helicopter  in
 7    Kuwait on Thursday, March 20, 2003; and

 8        WHEREAS,  Capt.  Beaupre  was  a  1991 graduate of Bishop
 9    McNamara High School; he was an Illinois State Scholar and  a
10    member of the National Honor Society; and

11        WHEREAS,  Capt.  Beaupre  was  an  athletic  and academic
12    achiever;  he  graduated  in  1995  from  Illinois   Wesleyan
13    University,  where  he  majored  in accounting, ran track and
14    cross-country, worked  at  the  college  career  center,  and
15    volunteered at a homeless shelter; and

16        WHEREAS,  In  1995,  he joined the Marines and trained in
17    Florida and Texas; and

18        WHEREAS, Capt. Beaupre, a member of St.  Anne's  Catholic
19    Church, died a hero's death in defense of his country; and

20        WHEREAS,  Capt.  Beaupre's passing will be deeply felt by
21    many, especially his parents, Mark and  Nicole  Beaupre;  and
22    his siblings, Alyse, Kari, and Christopher; therefore, be it

23        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  SENATE  OF  THE  NINETY-THIRD GENERAL
24    ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn  the  tragic
25    death  of  Captain  Ryan  Beaupre along with all who knew and
26    loved him and extend our sincere condolences  to  his  family
27    and friends; and be it further

28        RESOLVED,  That  a  suitable  copy  of this resolution be
29    presented to the family of  Captain  Ryan  Beaupre  with  our
30    deepest sympathy.
