SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois learned with regret of the death of Joseph William Legner of Princeton on Wednesday, November 17, 2004; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Legner was born on June 14, 1935, in Blackstone to Justin W. and Mary Elizabeth (Ritchie) Legner; he married JoAnn Rita Yucus on January 28, 1961, at St. Gertrude Catholic Church in Seatonville; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Legner was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Princeton, St. Gertrude Church in Seatonville, and the Bureau County Farm Bureau; he was a past St. Louis Church Council member and also was a 10-year leader for the Elm Tree 4-H Club; he was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving from 1956 to 1958; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Joseph William Legner has been deeply felt by many, especially his wife, JoAnn; his sons, Dan (Sue) Legner and Jim Legner; his brothers, Justin (Mary Lou) Legner, Leo (Linda) Legner, and Gerard Legner; his sisters, Ann (Jim) Hunter, Mary (Tom) Osborne, Ida (Jim) Weibel, and Monica (Richard) Lane; and his grandchildren, Brianna Legner, Ian Legner, and Isaac Legner; and

WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by one daughter in infancy, Denise Marie Legner; his parents; and his brother, Robert Legner; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Joseph Legner, and we extend our deepest sympathy to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Mr. Legner as an expression of our sincerest condolences.
