SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, LaVerne E. Trent of Alton died November 18, 2004;
3 and
 
4     WHEREAS, She was born September 14, 1926 in Wood River to
5 Walter and Clara (Harrington) Manns; she married Gilbert "Gib"
6 Trent on February 24, 1945; and
 
7     WHEREAS, She had retired as a legal secretary for several
8 area attorneys and was a member of the Legal Secretary's
9 Association in Madison County; and
 
10     WHEREAS, In 1957, she and her husband joined the First
11 Baptist Church of Rosewood Heights, where she served as
12 treasurer, deaconess, and choir member; one of the true loves
13 of her life was listening to her husband speak at church
14 meetings, and her family always said she was the true spirit of
15 the Trent family; she will be remembered forever for her love
16 of her family and dear friends; and
 
17     WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents and one
18 sister, Janet Bradley; and
 
19     WHEREAS, The passing of LaVerne E. Trent will be felt by
20 all who knew and loved her, especially her husband, Gilbert;
21 her sons and daughter-in-law, Gib Trent, Jr. and Larry and
22 Jeanne Trent; her grandchildren and their spouses, David and
23 Misty Trent, Steve and Deborah (Trent) Schrepfer, Derek Trent,
24 Darin and Tara Trent, and Angela and Andy Blasingim; and her
25 great-grandchildren; and
 
26     WHEREAS, She is also survived by Jonnie Morgan, who was
27 like a special daughter to her; her very special lifetime
28 friends, Maxine Bechtold, Helen Littleton, and Louise Moore;
29 and a host of many other dear friends and relatives; therefore,

2     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL
3 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
4 LaVerne E. Trent and extend our sincerest condolences to her
5 family and friends; and be it further
 
6     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7 presented to her family as an expression of our deepest
8 sympathy.
