SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, We have learned with sadness of the death of Elizabeth T. "Betty" Gray of Waukegan, Illinois, on September 4, 2004; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Gray was born on January 5, 1918, in Hungary, the daughter of John and Theresa Kenesie; she was a member of St. Dismas Catholic Church in Waukegan; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Gray realized the American dream of owning her own business by hard work; she owned Betty Gray's Beauty Salon for 40 years; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Gray was a dedicated and community-minded individual who helped many people and was known as a kind and caring person; and

WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph John Gray; by her parents; by two brothers, John Kenesie, Jr. and Andrew Kenesie; and by three sisters, Irma Kenesie, Ann Vinski, and Helen Kenesie; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Mrs. Gray will be deeply felt by many, especially her sons, Ronald J. (Kay) Gray and Richard K. (Pam) Gray; her grandchildren, Jodi (Ed) Tipler, Tami (Michael) Wennerstin, Brandon Gray, and Ian Gray; her brother, Steven (Dorothy) Kenesie; her sister, Teddy (Robert) O'Malley; and her many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of Elizabeth T. "Betty" Gray along with all who knew and loved her and extend our sincere condolences to her family and friends; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Elizabeth T. "Betty" Gray as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
