SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois learned with regret of the death of Idora E. Vallas on Tuesday, August 17, 2004; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Vallas was born on January 24, 1922 in Missouri Valley, Iowa to Robert and Wilhelmina McGarr Clark; she married Gabriel Vallas on August 22, 1942 in Peoria; and

WHEREAS, She was a former member of Eagles Aerie 265 Auxiliary in Peoria and was a member of the Edwards United Methodist Church in Edwards; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Idora E. Vallas has been deeply felt by many, especially her husband, Gabriel Vallas; her sons, Carl (and Paula) Vallianatos, Kenneth (and Janet) Vallas, and Donald (and Janet) Vallianatos; her daughter, Donna Sue (and Dennis) Hopwood; her 13 grandchildren; her 20 great-grandchildren; her one great-great grandson; her brother, Harry McGarr; and her sister, Dorothy LaFollett; her son, George Vallianatos, preceded her in death; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Idora E. Vallas, and we extend our deepest sympathy to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Mrs. Vallas as an expression of our sincere condolences.
