SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate of the State of
3 Illinois were saddened to learn of the death of Imelda M.
4 Nilges of Aurora on April 29, 2004; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Imelda M. Nilges was born on October 12, 1926, in
6 Richmond, Kansas; she was married to Anthony "Tony" Nilges on
7 September 6, 1947, at St. Therese Church in Richmond, Kansas;
8 and
 
9     WHEREAS, As her children grew up and left home, Imelda
10 devoted more time to her parish; she was involved in the
11 Blessed Virgin Sodality, Bingo, the resale house, and parish
12 festivals; she cared for the altar linens and was a Eucharistic
13 minister, taking communion to the homebound; in 1990, she
14 received an award from the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women
15 for her service to her parish; and
 
16     WHEREAS, The passing of Imelda M. Nilges will be deeply
17 felt by many, especially her husband, Tony Nilges; her
18 children, Sharon McNamara, Rosemary (Dick) Hauser, David
19 Nilges, Cathy (Roger Lee) Kott, Bonnie (Archie) Vargas, and
20 Marsha (Doug) Bock; her 15 grandchildren; her 12
21 great-grandchildren; her three brothers, Vernon (Evelyn)
22 Pickert, Adrian (Charlotte) Pickert, and Lawrence (Patty)
23 Pickert; her three sisters, Henrietta (Raymond) Mersman,
24 Dolores (Don) Oswald, and Ann (Mark) Mersmann; as well as many
25 beloved extended family members; and
 
26     WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents, Blanche
27 (Kipper) and Joseph A. Pickert; her great-granddaughter, Amber
28 McNamara; and her younger brother, James Pickert; therefore, be
29 it
 
30     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL

1 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of
2 Imelda M. Nilges along with all who knew and loved her and
3 extend our sincere condolences to his family and friends; and
4 be it further
 
5     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6 presented to the family of Imelda M. Nilges as an expression of
7 our deepest sympathy.
