SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with regret of the death of George D. Hunter on August
4 9, 2002; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Mr. Hunter was born on August 5, 1925, in Mound
6 Bayou, Mississippi, to Isaiah Hunter and Mattie B.
7 Morgan-Hunter; as a child, he was a member of Beautiful Star
8 Missionary Baptist Church; and
 
9     WHEREAS, Mr. Hunter valiantly served his country during
10 World War II and the Korean War as a member of the United
11 States Navy; he served his country for 9 years and received an
12 honorable discharge in 1953; and
 
13     WHEREAS, Mr. Hunter married Dorothy R. Brown on August 20,
14 1946; and
 
15     WHEREAS, The passing of George D. Hunter has been deeply
16 felt by many, especially his wife, Dorothy; his son, Kevin
17 Eugene Sr.; his grandchildren, Kevin Eugene Jr. and Kawana
18 La-Shaye; his sisters, Orlinda Golliday and Netti Webb; his
19 special nephews, Oscar Lee Gary and Robert Golliday; and his
20 many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and the First Baptist
21 Institutional Church family; therefore, be it
 
22     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL
23 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
24 George D. Hunter, and we extend our sincere condolences to his
25 family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
26 further
 
27     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
28 presented to the family of George D. Hunter as an expression of
29 our deepest sympathy.
