SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with regret of the death of John Calvin "JC" Knapp of
4 Knoxville on Friday, April 30, 2004; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Mr. Knapp was born on December 26, 1925, in
6 Shelby, Missouri, to Arthur and Lena Stolz Knapp; he married
7 Coralie McKeag in 1946 in Newton, Iowa; he later married Candy
8 Lyn Dixon on June 17, 1983, in Galesburg; and
 
9     WHEREAS, Mr. Knapp valiantly served his country during
10 World War II, the Bay of Pigs, the Korean War, and the
11 beginning of the Vietnam War; he served in the U.S. Navy, U.S.
12 Army, and the U.S. Marine Corps, retiring as a sergeant; and
 
13     WHEREAS, Mr. Knapp owned and operated Courtesy Cab Co. in
14 West Plains, Missouri, and Galesburg; he attended Orange Chapel
15 United Methodist Church in rural Gilson; and
 
16     WHEREAS, The passing of John Calvin "JC" Knapp has been
17 deeply felt by many, including his wife, Candy; his sons, John
18 Knapp, Larry (and Kim) Knapp, Randy (and Mary) Knapp, Davis
19 Kelson, and Jonathon Knapp; his daughters, Pamela (and Darrel)
20 Kelley, Holly (and Dave) Carver, and Kathryn Knapp; his 13
21 grandchildren; his 7 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Mary
22 Farigo; therefore, be it
 
23     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL
24 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
25 John Calvin "JC" Knapp, and we extend our deepest sympathy to
26 his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
27 further
 
28     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
29 presented to the family of John Calvin "JC" Knapp as an
