SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 were saddened to learn of the death of Virgil Anderson of
4 Princeton on April 13, 2004; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Mr. Anderson was born on September 17, 1915, in
6 Wyanet to Frank O. and Jennie M. (Johnson) Anderson; he married
7 Marie Pierson on November 19, 1966, in Princeton; and
 
8     WHEREAS, Mr. Anderson was a veteran of World War II,
9 serving in the Army for 22 months with the infantry in the
10 Phillippines; he was awarded the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre,
11 three battle stars, two arrow heads, the Phillippines
12 Liberation Ribbon Purple Heart, and the American Defense and
13 Good Conduct Medals; and
 
14     WHEREAS, He farmed for 39 years, retiring in 1984; he
15 graduated from Wyanet High School in 1933; and
 
16     WHEREAS, Mr. Anderson was a member of Princeton VFW Post
17 4323, the Farm Bureau, the Evangelical Covenant Church, and the
18 church's Friendship Circle; and
 
19     WHEREAS, The passing of Virgil Anderson will be deeply felt
20 by many, especially his wife, Marie Anderson; his daughters,
21 Janet Frazee, Marilyn (Dell) Edeler , Phyllis (Joe) Sledgister,
22 and Carolyn (Rollo) Saucier; his stepson, Gordon (Sue) Pierson;
23 his stepdaughter, Sharry (Kent) Johnson; his brothers, Leland
24 Anderson, Clifford (Lucille) Anderson, and Max (Joyce)
25 Anderson; his sister, Camilla (Tom) Monier; his
26 sisters-in-law, Lucille (Leslie) Anderson and Jane (Lloyd)
27 Anderson; his 13 grandchildren; his great-grandchild; and his
28 numerous nieces and nephews; and
 
29     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; his first

1 wife, Adelle (Monier) Anderson; his son, Stanley Anderson; two
2 brothers, Leslie and Lloyd Anderson; his sister, Herma
3 Anderson; and his son-in-law, Tom Frazee; therefore, be it
 
4     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL
5 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6 Virgil Anderson along with all who knew and loved him and
7 extend our sincere condolences to his family and friends; and
8 be it further
 
9     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10 presented to the family of Virgil Anderson as a token of our
11 deepest sympathy.
