SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 were saddened to learn of the death of Jack E. Flanagan, a
4 lifetime resident of Lake County, on January 27, 2004; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Jack E. Flanagan was born on March 3, 1925 in
6 Antioch; he was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church; and
 
7     WHEREAS, Mr. Flanagan was a highly-decorated Veteran of
8 World War II; he served the United States from 1943-1946 and
9 received two overseas service bars, a Good Conduct Medal, an
10 American Campaign Medal, and a World War II Victory Medal; and
 
11     WHEREAS, He worked for United States Steel Corp. for 32
12 years and became a member of a U.S. Steel Retirees Club called
13 SOAR; he also spent 25 years as a real estate agent at D.F.
14 Knox; and
 
15     WHEREAS, Mr. Flanagan was a member of Johnson Motor Club
16 and a Moose Lodge in Antioch; he also owned Flanagan's Supper
17 Club in Park Falls, Wisconsin from 1981-1987; he participated
18 in the American Legion, and was an avid hunter, fisherman, and
19 trapper; and
 
20     WHEREAS, The passing of Jack E. Flanagan will be deeply
21 felt by many, especially his wife of 54 years, Harriet; his
22 four children, Dale Edward (Renee) Flanagan, Kathy Joy (Mike)
23 Dunne, Judith Lynne (Danny) Moreno, and Patrick James (Rhonda)
24 Flanagan; his twelve grandchildren, Michelle (John) Hoeidt,
25 Robin Flanagan, Dana (Brad) Van Camp, Nicole Dunne, Angela
26 Kracj, Kelly Flanagan, Melissa Moreno, Krystal Dunne, Matthew,
27 Laura and Alex Moreno, and Arista Flanagan; and his four
28 great-grandchildren; and
 
29     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by three children, Carol

1 Ann Flanagan, Jack Alan Flanagan, and Laura Kay Flanagan; and
2 his parents, Edward and Edna Flanagan; therefore, be it
 
3     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL
4 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of
5 Jack E. Flanagan along with all who knew and loved him and
6 extend our sincere condolences to his family and friends; and
7 be it further
 
8     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9 presented to the family of Jack E. Flanagan as an expression of
10 our deepest sympathy.
