SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 were saddened to learn of the death of Emil T. Liedberg of
4 Waukegan on January 29, 2004; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Emil Liedberg was born on October 17, 1920 in
6 Batavia; he married Dorothy Schmidt on May 18, 1946 at Holy
7 Family Church; and
 
8     WHEREAS, Mr. Liedberg retired from Cyclone Fence in 1976,
9 after 29 and a half years of service, when the plant closed; he
10 was then employed with Amoco Tools, retiring in 1986; he was
11 formerly a member of Holy Family Church and most recently a
12 member of Queen of Peace Church; and
 
13     WHEREAS, Mr. Liedberg was discharged in 1946 from the
14 United States Navy after serving six years as a chief during
15 World War II; he was also a member of the Steel Workers Club;
16 and
 
17     WHEREAS, The passing of Emil T. Liedberg will be deeply
18 felt by many, especially his wife of 57 years, Dorothy; his two
19 daughters, Carol Lopez and Nancy (Rick) Grabowski; his six
20 grandchildren, Bryan (Sheila) Grabowski, Kristy Grabowski,
21 Nikki (Scott) Hightower, Matthew Johnson, Tony Lopez, and
22 Christine Lopez; his three great-grandchildren, Sarah and
23 Joseph Grabowski, and Calvin Hightower; his four brothers,
24 Howard, Andy, David, and Robert Liedberg; his two sisters,
25 Louise Gremonprez and Anna West; and many nieces and nephews;
26 and
 
27     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jane
28 Johnson in 1988; and his sister, Wilma Gordon; therefore, be it
 
29     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL

1 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
2 Emil T. Liedberg along with all who knew and loved him and
3 extend our sincere condolences to his family and friends; and
4 be it further
 
5     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6 presented to the family of Emil T. Liedberg as an expression of
7 our deepest sympathy.
