SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with regret of the death of Albert G. Paja of Deerfield
4 on December 20, 2003; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Mr. Paja was born on April 22, 1925, in Chicago;
6 he was an architect during his professional career; he served
7 as State Architect for Governor Richard Ogilvie between 1969
8 and 1973; and
 
9     WHEREAS, Mr. Paja valiantly served his country in the
10 United States Marine Corps during World War II in the Pacific;
11 he was a life member of both the Deerfield American Legion 738
12 and the Highland Park Veterans of Foreign Wars 4737; from 1993
13 to 1995, he served as Commander of Deerfield's American Legion
14 Post 738; for the past few years, he served as the post's
15 Finance Officer, and in addition he was an outstanding
16 recruiter of new members; and
 
17     WHEREAS, Mr. Paja and his wife of 56 years, Irene, were
18 active together as volunteers at the Veterans Affairs Hospital
19 for years; he was also a fourth degree life member of the
20 Highland Park Knights of Columbus Immaculate Heart of Mary 4238
21 and active in the Deerfield Senior Men's Club; and
 
22     WHEREAS, The passing of Albert G. Paja has been deeply felt
23 by many, especially his wife, Irene; his sons, Alan S.
24 (Marilyn) Paja and Ronald P. (Mary Kay Collins) Paja; and his
25 grandchildren, Kate, Alex, Ian, Megan, Kevin, Scott, and
26 Matthew Paja; therefore, be it
 
27     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL
28 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
29 Albert G. Paja, and we extend our deepest sympathy to his
30 friends, family, and all who knew and loved him; and be it

4 our deepest sympathy for their loss.
