SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois learned with regret of the death of Beverly Ann Criglar of Springfield on Wednesday, January 28, 2004; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Criglar was born on August 19, 1940, in Springfield, the daughter of Herbert and Dorothy Gaines Baker; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Criglar was Executive Secretary to Attorney General Lisa Madigan; she previously worked for the Comptroller's office, the Senate and House of Representatives, and Constitutional Convention; she was known for her caring and thoughtful personality, and the most important part of her life was her family; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Criglar was a member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Sangamon County Democratic Minority Causes, the Central Illinois Democratic Women, and was a Democratic Precinct Committeeman; she served as personal assistant to State Senator Barack Obama from 1997 to 2000; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Beverly Ann Criglar has been deeply felt by many, especially her sons, William Hall (companion, Kevin Tindell), Mark Baker, and Lionel M. (wife, Kim) Leake; her daughter, Melinda Criglar; her grandson; her brothers, Herbert Baker Jr. and Michael Baker; her sister, Gail Wright; her many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a host of co-workers and other friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that along with her friends, family, colleagues, and all who knew and loved her, we mourn the passing of Beverly Ann Criglar; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Beverly Ann Criglar as an expression of our sincerest condolences during their time of bereavement.
